Best thing about academic advising: Seeing people succeed and reach for their goals both personally and professionally and being able to guide them and encourage them along the way.

Most interesting book I have read: Silent Spring by Rachel Carson

Favorite thing to do: Spending time with my six nieces and nephews. Watching them play sports, dance, grow, and learn. I look forward to the fall—watching the Broncos play football at Mile High Stadium makes for a great Sunday afternoon.

Person I admire most: My uncle Ed Demos, who was the Director of the City and County of Denver’s Environment Division and past Director and faculty member here at University College. He had a passion for the environment and was able to look at environmental issues from the 30,000 foot level. I miss him very much.

Something you might not know about me: One of my EPM students introduced me to my husband Tim, who is an Environment Scientist. Tim is always willing to conduct informational interviews with students. I enjoy portrait photography and event photography; photography is not only a hobby of mine, but has turned into a job on some weekends.
