A new quarter is starting yet again, and it’s never too early to prepare yourself for a successful quarter! The start of a new quarter is an exciting time and good opportunity to get organized for the rest of the term. Here are tips to help you the start of this quarter off strong.
Check in With Your Advisor
It is important to check in with your advisor to make sure you are on track this quarter and completing your academic goals. Check with your advisor to ensure you are taking the right courses or if you have any questions about moving forward in your program. Not sure who your advisor is? Check out the advising blog.
Plan Ahead for Registration
Plan ahead for next quarter by looking at the annual schedules online, located in the footer of the University College home page. Do you need to take core courses next quarter? Interested in an elective being offered later this year? Be ready to go when registration goes live mid-quarter!
Mark Your Calendar
The quarter can go by quickly, especially when you are busy working and taking classes. Go through your course syllabi and put assignments, deadlines, and other important events on your calendar (with alerts!) to make sure you know what is next. Scheduling out the quarter will help you stay organized and on track.
Take Advantage of Open Write Night
Looking to enhance your writing skills? Not sure how to use the Turabian citation guide? Attend an Open Write Night session in person or online and get one-on-one help from University College faculty. Four sessions will be offered in spring quarter. Spring dates are set, so mark your calendars!
