course response

As many of you know, the University is transitioning to a new course and teacher evaluation system in the fall quarter 2011. Our partner in this process is Digital MeasuresDigital Measures produces an evaluation system called Course Response, which we will begin to use in fall 2011 in place of the current course and teacher evaluation process.  Digital Measures currently works with more than 2,000 institutions and was very well received by faculty and administrators at DU who were able to attend the product demonstrations. If you were unable to attend the open forum in May, please feel free to view the online demo.

We will begin the implementation of the new system with the evaluation of fall courses. All evaluations will be conducted online and the evaluation questions themselves will not be changed from what is currently in use by each department. Near the end of the term, students will automatically be contacted via email with a request to complete evaluations for all of their courses and will be provided with links to complete the appropriate evaluation forms. Reminder emails will be sent to non-respondents. Each unit at the university will move to the Course Response system regardless of what system had been in use previously.

This new system will provide data more quickly than the current system once an evaluation period is complete.  Additionally, a paperless system supports the University’s sustainability efforts.
