Staying healthy during the holidays can be challenging for anyone. The wealth of common winter illnesses, coupled with increased seasonal socializing and stress, can easily leave you feeling feverish and run down. Stand strong against the germs this year so that you can enjoy everything that comes with this next marvelous month or more! The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a few simple tips that can help you stay in top form, including:

  • Wash your hands often
  • Stay warm
  • Get check-ups and vaccinations

While there are no guarantees that these guidelines will prevent you from catching a cold, they can improve your odds by boosting your body’s natural immunity. Additionally, the CDC recommends managing your stress as a way to reduce your chances of being bitten by a winter bug. With classes on hiatus until January 4, take advantage of this time to both re-charge with loved ones and reinvest in yourself with some stolen “alone time.” Re-focus, re-group, and most importantly, relax and you will invariably find that you feel happier – and healthier – this holiday season.
