Center of Academic Excellence

The University of Denver recently received a re-designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense. DU is among only four institutions in Colorado and 100 nationwide to hold this designation, which means DU is part of an elite group of institutions that offer higher education opportunities in cyber security deemed outstanding by the federal government. DU first received this designation in 2008.

“With the shortage of skilled cyber security professionals, it’s crucial for students to receive leading-edge IT knowledge,” said Dr. Tom Tierney, academic director of the Information and Communications Technology program at University College. “Our program offers just that, and we’re proud to be designated a Center of Academic Excellence.”

The designation is provided jointly by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security. Visit the University College website to learn more about the Information and Communications Technology program.
